Kaidia “Kailyssi" Nyrrassi I will fight injustice with justice. Kailyssi watched Alex stick out his tongue and then shake his head followed by a wink. It was all Kaidia could do not to burst out in a laughing fit! This strange wolf was going to be a great addition to their group if he accepted her offer. Jorah would have to lighhten up a bit after this! Sometimes the big old grizzly bear was wound up too tightly. Kaidia understood why though, she refused to fight or learn how, so her life was solely at the mercy of Jorah's ability to protect them both.
The leopardess nodded in acknowledgement of Alexon's words, her voice expressing understanding as well, "We know many who enjoy killing as well." Kaidia dropped the subject though and did not elaborate on how the two knew. That would be a discussion for a later time.
Bright and intelligent eyes looked at Jorah, "I will have to discuss you officially joining us with Jorah first. But as I said, you are free to join us until we can get to a steady source of food and water." Kaidia was not surprised that Jorah asked where Alexon and Zara were traveling.
When Alex answered Jorah's question, Kaidia flicked her ears a bit, trying to focus on the wolf's emotions as he talked. Even though the filmy barrier was still there, there was no mistaking the nervous fear that spiked within his happy bubble of emotion. Kaidia lightly touched Jorah with her tail, silently allowing him to take the lead on addressing Alex. They two were running from a bad situation, the least they could do was show mercy. But if Jorah thought that the risk for both parties was too high, then Kaidia would have to deal with saying farewells later on.
The Kailyssi turned her attention to Zara, with her empathic abilities; it was impossible not to. The gorilla's friendly nature was riddled with spikes of concern and apologetics. Kaidia went closer to her, her voice gentle, "It's ok, Zara! You are perfectly fine. I understand that it's exciting to meet new Marked. I'm excited meeting you too!" Though Zara's next statement filled her slight annoyance, not with Zara of course but in the fact that in Zara's past there had to have been someone who made her feel unworthy. A slight growl entered her now commanding voice, "Zara, you are not unworthy! You have just as much worth as all of us. I do not want to hear you call yourself 'a lowly one' again." Her voice got considerably gentler and kind, "And of course you may join us. Do you by chance know where the nearest place to get food and water would be, Zara?"

Traveling to be traveling. Jorah resisted the urge to growl, though the look on his face was not particularly warm. He did not trust travelers, he wouldn’t have even as a knight, before his days as part of an order of assassins. As his own life stood testament to, travelers very rarely traveled simply because they wanted to “see new places” or “be of service.” Usually, they were on the move because they were running away from something. While Jorah might have been sympathetic, considering his and Kaidia’s predicament, their current status as fellow fugitives only increased the chances that one or both of their “bad situations” would catch up with them sooner or later. Promises meant little to Jorah. Kaidia’s father had made promises, given assurances, but in the end he had been a monster Jorah hadn’t seen through the smile he’d worn on his face. It seemed this knowledge seeker, Zara, always wished to join them. Jorah could sense Kaidia’s willingness, and almost hear her kind voice rebuking him for his suspicion and bad manners. Still, trust never came easy to Jorah, for good reason. The only creature he trusted was Kaidia, and he did not expect that would change anytime soon. To Zara, the grizzly said, “We do not possess great knowledge, nor do we seek it. Why do you wish to travel with us? Do you have an intended destination, or do you travel aimlessly as well?” Turning his attention to Alex, he gave the wolf a thoughtful look. “If you're willing to be forthright, then, Alexon Skye, where are you from?” Jorah asked the wolf, though for Kaidia’s sake he tried to keep his tone softer. He was a cautious beast, but not unkind, and if she trusted the intentions of these two creatures, he would try to ease up, if only a little. Vera Janielove mrsrper Word count: 313 |

Alexon
Alex chewed their lip a bit. They barely registered the conversation happening between the leopardess and the gorilla, as they were completely focused on the bear before them. They side-stepped a bit, trying to get a bit closer to him, and their voice was low. "I was born in the Kingdom between the Twins, in a secluded place in the mountains." The wolf was uncomfortable disclosing the information, and was fidgeting a bit. "I am running from my father, Landicus Darkstone, of the Darkstone guild. I doubt he is searching for me, but I can never go back." The wolf's tail was low, almost tucked, and they kept glancing at the others in the group. "Why don't I, uh, I can go hunt us something, if you like, though, Zara, I doubt there's much of your type of fare around here."Vera Lion mrsrper
