Character: Khazaan Dryden
Name: The Dawnstrider Crew
Type: A pirate crew
Gods: Primarily the Goddess of the Sea, the God of Storms, or the Demigods of Chaos or Song, but others are allowed (and probably openly mocked, depending on which god/goddess it is)

Description: The crew of the Dawnstrider is a very illustrious gang of pirates and brigands, led by Captain Khazaan Dryden. The crew is rather tightly knit, having fought their way through storms, struggles against the law, and other various adventures together. Loyalty is prized above all in their group, and the only thing they find more important than wealth and their own gain is each other. While generally they live to have a good time and to make (i.e. steal) coin, the pirates of the Dawnstrider do have a strict code they are required to adhere to, mostly a code of honor within their own ranks.
Ranks:
Captain - The leader of the crew and owner of the ship. Their word outranks anyone else's.
Quartermaster - The second-in-command on the ship, the QM is the one responsible for seeing the captain's orders are carried out. Handles the management of the ship, oversees punishments and payment for the crew members.
Helmsman - A position offered to one animal. They are in charge of steering the ship. Requires a steady hand and a creature that does well under pressure.
Navigator - A position offered to one animal. They are in charge of charting a course across the seas. Requires an intelligent, probably educated (or experienced) individual who has studied the stars (it would make sense for them to worship Esera, Goddess of the Stars, but this is not a requirement).
Boatswain - An individual in charge of the maintenance of the ship. Is responsible for making sure the ship is clean and ready for sea-faring. Also stocks the ships with ropes, sails, etc. to make sure it is adequately equipped. Oversees the dropping of the anchor and deployment of rowboats as well.
Cooper - An individual tasked with making and maintaining the barrels on the ship.
Carpenter - Works with the boatswain to maintain the structural integrity of the ship, repairing anything that is damaged and making repairs when needed.
Doctor/surgeon - An individual tasked with the health of the crew members. Pirates often are injured, and it is a difficult but important job to make sure they're stitched up after a scuffle.
Master Gunner - A crew member responsible for the operation of the ship's canons. Works with gunners to ensure they are fit to fire, commands the gunners in the event of a naval battle.
Gunners - Those who man the canons and keep prepared for any fights, at sea or otherwise.
Powder-monkey - A younger crew member, typically, training to become a gunner. Often carry the gunpowder for the canons back and forth to help the gunners reload.
Cook - Responsible for feeding the crew.
Musician/bard - Provides entertainment to the crew.
Rules:
1. The captain's word is law. Never disobey an order from the captain.
2. In the event the captain is unable to give orders, the quartermaster is to be followed in his stead.
3. In-fighting is strictly prohibited. Those who fight amongst themselves will be punished for their actions.
4. Protect your fellow crew members above all else.
5. Maintain a professional demeanor on shore and never risk the reputation of the crew for your own pleasure/advantage.
