Identifying Features || Ariadne is a large bird for her species, with sleek, white feathers speckled with black in a mesmerizing pattern. She has intelligent, dark eyes and limber talons which she uses for her craft. Her beak is also white with a black tip. The Mark of her birth god, Athvres, still rests across her back, a silver bolt of lightning breaking up the black-spotted pattern there. The Marks of the chosen gods she also serves are on both of her thighs, the left bearing Cahrohaan’s black scroll-and-hammer Mark and the right bearing Roharim’s black swords Mark.
Clothing || Ariadne usually wears a leather breastplate with various loops and pouches for her tools to hang off when she works.
Weapons || Ariadne is very skilled in sword fighting, and possesses two sleek sabers that she can wield in both of her talons at the same time. They can be sheathed in loops on her breastplate, but tend to be bulky, so she also has a pair of small daggers she carries with her when she goes out.
the personality
Overall || Ariadne is something of an enigma. At times, she is quiet, reserved, preferring to hang back and observe. At other times, she’s excitable and curious, eager to explore and to learn new things. She comes across as mature and serious when around strangers, but get to know her, and you may find that she has the heart of a child, easily filled with wonder at new sights.
Ariadne is very clever and creative. She loves coming up with new designs and new things to construct. As a leatherworker and smith, she combines all the skills she’s honed to create things that make others’ lives easier or fills it with just a little more beauty. Her craft is very important to her, and when she’s working she is very focused. Growing up among a wealthy family, she knows the etiquette of nobility well, but does not hold such traditions in high regard, preferring comfort and ease to the pressures of fashion and refinement.

History || The Savahris family is an old name, holding some influence in the Kingdom Between the Twins as a respectable noble family with a great many members of varying importance. Dante Savahris was a trader among his family, namely someone who procured important artifacts for the Savahris’ scholars and priests or supplies for their mountain strongholds. His rank within the family was elevated somewhat by his marriage to the wealthy Enya Tyrin, whose beauty and grace and family name stood out. She married Dante out of convenience, mostly, and the two chicks she bore him never interested her. Dante traveled a great deal, but when he came home, he lavished his two daughters with all the love and gifts that he could. For this reason, Chessy and Ariadne always looked forward to the days he spent at home with them. Without him, their lives were boring hours filled with studying, prayers, and their mother’s prim, elegant silence.
As the two daughters grew, Chessy began to take after their father, always out and about, popular with just about everyone, a leader of rabble but a leader all the same. Ariadne was quiet, sullen at times, her disposition reinforced by her mother’s stern behavior and scoldings. She didn’t possess her sister’s flare for the dramatic, and preferred to sit and read in peace rather than run about causing trouble with her sister. Her life changed, however, when she met Kiya. Kiya was a mountain lion who lived outside the walls of the Savahris stronghold.
Ariadne met her while out on a flight one day. As she flew, the gyrfalcon spotted Kiya hunting and watched, fascinated, as she brought down a goat. Living in the walls of her stronghold, Ariadne had never had to hunt or work to survive. She warily approached Kiya, wanting to know more about this strange, wild Blessed one. Nearly all of the Savahris family worshipped Athvres, God of Storms and Skies, but Kiya worshipped Marainen, Goddess of the Earth, and Cahrohaan, God of Construction. She believed that stone and stem were the key to a good life. Ariadne learned a great deal from Kiya, how to hunt, build, and eventually even how to tan leather and work it. This was the greatest lesson her friend passed on to her, for that was the skill that Ariadne would later master.
Though her mother disapproved of her newfound friend and her interest in leatherwork, Ariadne’s father encouraged her craft. He brought her fine metals and tools that she would use to craft, and she soon surpassed Kiya in skill when it came to making things. Her father eventually allowed her to take lessons from their family smith, as well, and she helped make saddles, bridles, horse shoes, swords, anything that was needed.
Eventually, Ariadne accepted the Blessings of Cahrohaan and his brother, Roharim, and became one of few in her family to worship multiple gods. Her mother couldn’t care less, and her father encouraged her to continue showing devotion to all of her gods. He arranged an apprenticeship in the great city of Rynidaan in the kingdom in the north so that she could learn new techniques and truly hone her craft. His expectation was that she would return home eventually, but Ariadne loved learning from masters and seeing new places. She began to travel, staying in cities long enough to study under their smiths and leatherworkers before she’d move on to the next. She figures that she will begin her own shop one day, but for now she uses whatever forge is available to her, sells her crafts, and continues on. This has earned her something of a reputation among those interested in forges and leatherwork, and she’s earned the nickname of “the Wandering Leatherworker” because of that. She continues to correspond with her family and with Kiya, however.
